Our ingredients are thoughtfully sourced from local farms and human food suppliers in the US. We use only fresh, whole-food ingredients that meet USDA standards for human consumption. This means we never use feed-grade ingredients, meat meals, or anything artificial, ensuring your dog is getting only the highest quality, safest nutrients available. We believe in a minimal ingredient diet, which is why we put our ingredients on the FRONT of our packaging. We're not trying to hide anything or play tricks with paragraphs of ingredients. Our recipes were formulated by an industry leading veterinary nutritionist and evaluated by a team of veterinarians. Our recipes are complete and balanced for all life stages according to the nutritional levels established by AAFCO.

Our company started in our founder's kitchen, where he and his wife made home-cooked meals for their dogs. Those original recipes were perfected with the expertise of vets and veterinary nutritionists. Today, we're still preparing those original family recipes with the same love and commitment to quality (just in a bit larger of a kitchen!). Our Fresh recipes are prepared in a USDA / FDA inspected kitchen in New York. Each human-grade ingredient is gently cooked at a low temperature and in small batches to maximize nutrient bioavailability. Ingredients are cooked separately, mixed together, and then flash-frozen to lock in freshness just days before arriving at your door.

UnKibble^TM is a dry food for dogs that offers a crunchy texture and ‘scoopable’ convenience that many pet parents are accustomed to with kibbles. However, the similarities end there – full stop! Our UnKibble^TM recipes are prepared in a state-of-the-art facility in Wisconsin. A blend of USDA protein, starch, and fresh fruits and veggies is gently pasteurized at a low temperature through our Fresh Dry^TM process. This original Fresh Dry^TM technique retains the natural vitamins and minerals, colors, and aromas of each farm fresh ingredient. Unlike kibbles, which are extruded using high pressure and high heat, UnKibble^TM is gently dehydrated at a low temperature – bringing you the texture and convenience of a dry food for dogs without cutting any corners on ingredient integrity or taste!

Because UnKibble^TM is shelf-stable, we can store and transport it safely without the added costs of freezers, refrigerated trucks, dry ice, and protective insulated boxes. By passing those cost savings on to you, we're able to offer a lower priced product without making any compromises on ingredient integrity or quality!

Dogs can survive on commercial pet foods (just as we can get by eating junk food every day!). But, they live longer, healthier lives when nourished with real, fresh ingredients – just like us!

The truth is, most commercial pet foods are filled with cheap and potentially harmful ingredients like rendered meat “meals” or powdered meats. Oftentimes, these meats (which can contain roadkill, expired meat, and even euthanized pets!) would never be accepted for human food production. Even so-called "clean" kibbles that exclude meat meals are extruded at such high temperatures that the natural flavor and nutrients of the ingredients are destroyed. They then rely on synthetic vitamins, minerals, colors and spray-on flavors to mimic the smell and taste of real food.

Discouraged by these realities and the alarming rise in pet allergies, obesity, and cancer, we created a common sense alternative. Whether you opt for our Fresh or UnKibble^TM recipes, Spot & Tango always excludes the junk you'll commonly find in pet foods. It's made from only whole ingredients you'd eat yourself. Our meals are prepared with love, using gentle cooking methods to preserve nutrients and palatability.

It's up to you! We offer two incredible choices that are both made from 100% fresh, human-grade ingredients. Our Fresh recipes are gently cooked and have a soft, wet texture. They come in pre-portioned, sealed packs for easy, stackable storage in your freezer. Our Fresh recipes are great for any dog, especially picky eaters, or senior dogs with brittle teeth. Our UnKibble^TM recipes are made with our unique Fresh Dry^TM process to have a crunchy texture. They come with a customized serving scoop, and can be stored in the pantry. Our UnKibble^TM meals are great for those who prefer to scoop and serve, have limited freezer space, or have a dog that prefers a crunchy texture. If you're having trouble deciding which one is right for your pup, our team is here to help – but you really can't go wrong!

If your dog doesn't love our food, we give you your money back - simple as that. If you would like a refund on your trial order, it must be requested before the end of your trial (i.e., by 5pm EST the day before your subscription renews).

Please do! While consulting with your vet is not required to switch dog foods, they will have your dog's full medical history and best understand their unique needs. Your vet will be comforted that Spot & Tango is nutritionally-balanced and formulated by a veterinary nutritionist. We don't currently offer prescription diets, but we're happy to work with you and your vet to see if Spot & Tango is the right fit.

Many well-intentioned dog owners cook for their pups, and we're excited when people understand the benefits of a fresh food diet for dogs. That said, research has shown that over 95% of home-cooked dog food recipes do not meet the nutritional requirements for healthy dogs. Too few (or too many!) nutrients can result in serious complications. That's why Spot & Tango's recipes were formulated by veterinarians and animal nutritionists – so that you can sleep easy, knowing your pup is getting exactly what they need.

We currently offer free 2-day shipping to the 48 contiguous states via Fedex Ground. We ship meals on a recurring, but flexible basis to ensure you never run out of food or have too much! With Spot & Tango, plans are customized to meet your dog's needs and are conveniently portioned with you in mind. Our Fresh meals come in easy-serve pre-portioned packs, and our UnKibble^TM meals include a customized serving scoop – no more measuring or guesswork at mealtime!

You'll have the ability to adjust deliveries at any time on our customer portal. We'll also send you a reminder email 3 days in advance of upcoming shipments, and a confirmation email with tracking information once an order processes – no surprises here!

Fresh: Please place meals in the freezer immediately upon receipt. Meals can be defrosted in the refrigerator overnight or in warm water just prior to serving. You can feed directly from the fridge (but if your dog is a picky eater, they'll go crazy for the aroma of a heated meal!). Our sealed packs can be stored in the freezer for up to 6-months. Once meals are defrosted, we recommend consuming within 4 days.

UnKibble^TM: Please store bags in a cool, dark place (like a pantry). Sealed bags can be stored for up to 12-months. However, we do not use any preservatives, so once a bag is opened, we recommend consuming within 3-4 weeks.

When it comes to managing your subscription, you’re in control! You can adjust portions, rush or delay a shipment, change recipes, and modify shipping or billing information any time online. You may cancel your subscription in the customer portal or by emailing us at info@spotandtango.com and following the instructions you receive. Each dog’s meals are made-to-order, so all cancellation requests must be submitted by 5:00pm EST on the day before your next order is scheduled to process.
